  1. Explore the Hidden Corners of the 1st District
While Vienna’s city center is famous for its stunning architecture and historic charm, it can get pretty busy so I wanted to share my fav hidden alleyways and lesser-known corners in the first district. Take time to wander, and you’ll find tucked-away courtyards, lovely cafes, and small shops that offer a glimpse into Vienna’s soul. Some of my favorite hidden corners include the picturesque Franziskanerplatz with the iconic kleines Café especially during summer, the Ferstel passage which was built in 1860 as well as lesser known Rudolfspark.

2. Visit Farmer Markets with Seasonal & Regional Products
I love to go to Vienna’s farmers market for getting fresh, local and season groceries. Depending on the area where you’re staying, you will find many vibrant stalls with international flavor, seasonal products and homemade goods. I personally love to go to Brunnenmarkt on Saturdays (the market is then around Yppenplatz), as there you can find many organic farmer stands. Of course I also love to go to Naschmarkt from time to time, while it’s more on the touristy side I would say. When I go there, I rather go for brunch such as to the original NENI am Naschmarkt. Another one of my favorite markets is the a bit fancier Kutschkermarkt in the 18th district with exclusive delicacies, a farmer's market on Saturday and one of my favorite breakfast and cake place in town, Himmelblau. There are many From Naschmarkt to Brunnenmarkt, you’ll find vibrant stalls filled with seasonal produce, local specialties, and international flavors. Pick up some fresh fruits or snacks to enjoy while exploring the city. You can check out this guide here for a detailed overview of Vienna’s markets per district.

4. Indulge in Local Bakeries with Austrian Specialities
When you think of Vienna, the iconic Sachertorte probably comes straight to mind. But have you explored the amazing baked goods at the local Austrian bakeries already? Because Vienna is actually home to a rich tradition of craftsmanship for bread and pastries. One of my personal favorites is Öfferl, with multiple locations (1010, 1020, 1030, 1080), a bakery that has truly mastered the art of bread-making. Their high-quality ingredients truly make it stand out and you should try their sourdough bread (my favorite is Mademoiselle Crousto). You should also not miss to grab brunch at Öfferl 1010 to try their delicious products combined with tasty (vegan & vegetarian) products for breakfast.
Another tip of mine is Motto Brot in the 6th district, offering an array of artisanal breads, pastries and in summer you can also enjoy them for brunch in their lovely outside seating restaurant.

5. Hike Up the Vineyards & Try Viennese Wine
Vienna offers a unique blend of city life and nature, and for me one of the best ways to experience this is by hiking up the scenic vineyards that surround the city. Along the way, you’ll find charming Heurigen (wine taverns) where you can enjoy some of Vienna’s finest local wines, tasty spreads, bread and homemade food. My personal favorite is Wieninger am Nussberg, where the stunning views of the city pair perfectly with a glass of their exquisite white wine (my favorite is Gelber Muskateller). Another must-visit is Mayer am Nussberg, offering a great authentic food and amazing wine. For a more off-the-beaten-path experience, stop by Buschenschank Windischbauer, with amazing wine - check their opening hours before! Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Vienna’s vineyards provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable adventure. You can also find more info about hiking around the vineyards in Vienna on the website here.

6. Check Out the Best Yoga Studios, Gyms and Sport Classes
As I’m a yoga teacher myself, I’m super picky with yoga classes and the biggest fan of Judy’s and Lina’s spicy vinyasa classes, so I basically follow them to every studio such as TRBY (they also offer amazing yogic rave events and together we host a vegan yoga hive retreat once a year). Also you should check out the class of Julia (the owner of Wyldthing) and shouldn’t miss Gerry’s intense flow class at ylab.
When it comes to sport classes I can highly recommend F45, shapedbyiB and I usually hit the gym at EVO (my fav location is in 1090).

7. Discover Hidden Courtyards in the City Center
Vienna is full of beautiful, serene courtyards, often hidden behind grand facades of historic townhouses and palaces. Many of these beautiful courtyards have been meticulously restored and reimagined. These interconnected spaces offer not only a shortcut but also a chance to experience a quieter, more intimate side of Vienna that’s often overlooked by the casual visitor. I want to share two of my favorite courtyards with you: the Raimundhof in the 6th district with the amazing Secret Garden cafe, which is perfect for lunch; and the Schottendurchhaus connecting the 8th and the 7th district, where you’ll also find the amazing vegan bakery Schwarzbrot. You can find more information and even more hidden courtyards on Vienna’s website here.

8. Enjoy Rooftop Bars with Stunning Views Over the City
For a magical evening or sunset, head to one of Vienna’s rooftop bars. You can sip on cocktails as you enjoy panoramic views of the city or even enjoy a brunch with a view. Some of my favorite rooftops include Dachboden on top of 25h hotel; NENI am Prater for brunch or dinner; Cayo Coco on top of the Hoxton hotel; and the beautiful Chez Bernard rooftop bar.

9. Go on a Shopping Trip & Check out Local Shops
There are plenty of local boutiques and artisan shops offering unique finds, from handmade jewelry to sustainable fashion over carefully selected cosmetics and food products. Skip the souvenirs and opt for something truly special to remember Vienna. I wouldn’t call myself a fashion expert so my tips include rather shops for the “daily usage”. Some of my favorite local shops include Ototo Store & Coffee; the plant, coffee and book shop Calienna; the lovely English book shop Shakespeare & Company and the natural cosmetic products at Saint Charles.

10. Relax in the Parks & Enjoy the Sun
Vienna’s parks are some of the most beautiful in my opinion in whole Europe. Whether it’s Stadtpark, the small park around Karlsplatz, Burggarten, Volksgarten, or the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace, these green spaces are perfect for a leisurely stroll, a picnic, or just soaking up the Viennese vibe. My absolute favorite are Augarten in the 2nd district and Türkenschanzpark in the 18th district, which are lesser known to tourists.
